Manufacturers Listed on the Stock Exchange

Children’s clothes today have to be fashionable and trendy as children like to copy what their favourite pop idols are wearing. Festival clothes have a huge range of up to date styles for children who might want to copy something that their older brother and sister might be wearing. Also many children might have been to see the latest film out and want to wear something with the characters on from that film. Children’s clothes (Kinderkleidung) can be as stylish and fashionable as adults and it is very important for clothing manufacturers to make sure they keep up with the latest trend in fashion.

Some clothing manufacturers will list their company on the Stock Exchange and Stirling Group Limited and Burberry are no exception. Burberry is not only involved in the manufacture of children’s clothes but many other fashion accessories such as handbags and fragrances. Burberry led to the invention of gabardine in the year 1880 which is a hard wearing as well was water-resistant fabric. The company is comprised of branded stores as well as franchise in all parts of the world and the unique check pattern is Burberry’s popular trademark.

Another company Stirling Group Limited is listed on the Stock Exchange and provides clothing designs and manufacturing services. Stirling Group was first listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1960. The Company became a leading clothing supplier to the Marks & Spencer department store group, which for some time was Stirling’s only customer. Stirling later formed Stirling Knitting which remained a small company during 1960 – 1970. Stirling began to expand at the start of the decade in 1971 and the company built an extension to its factory in order to increase its production capacity. Stirling specialised in producing women’s and children’s knitted clothing which was mainly for Marks & Spencer and sold under the St.Michael label.

Nowadays Festival clothes (Festkleider) can be bought from most leading stores and the choice is huge. Children’s clothes are big business and manufacturers are very competitive. They have to stay one step ahead or they will loose their place in the market. That is why clothing manufacturers might decide to list their company on the Stock Exchange. Once a celebrity is seen wearing one of the new fashions people are quick to copy. People copy not just the clothes the person might be wearing but their shoes and other accessories which make up the outfit. Children’s clothes can become popular just by watching a particular programme on television and seeing their favourite character wearing something which is new and trendy. Children like to dress the same as their friends and when the latest fashion comes on the market Festival clothes will have the new designs.

Children sometimes appear to be more grown up and older than they really are because of them wanting to copy the adult fashions. Also although they might like to wear the latest designs, children’s clothes must be hardwearing and able to stand up to some rough treatment in the playground.
